The no-nonsense acceptance of nature has calmed me, grounded me, caught my tears, celebrated in my joys, and has offered nothing more and nothing less, than just being her god damn magical powerful Self. I make her into an entity, a being. Making her into one big blob of an entity doesn’t do her justice. She is all of us. Every plant, every animal, every human animal, every rock and speck of dirt, every breath we breathe. She is us, and we are her.

The world around me seems to have slowed to a snail’s pace. In the liminal space - the time between “what was” and “what’s next” is where transformation happens. The key is to lean into the stillness, lean into the unknown, and allow the cycle of waiting to shape what’s next.

The last memories of winter are thawing. Birds have returned from wherever they call their winter home, singing their songs from the recording studio of the sky. They alight on tree branches for awhile and then, after lift-off, the skies are filled with plumes of yellow pollen as feathered wings disperse the tiny grains across the landscape.

Find something teeny tiny and spend 3 minutes getting to know it. What does it look like up close? What do you notice about it?

I noticed how this wee ball of moss is made up of many minuscule green spike petals. I noticed how desperately I wanted to remove the string of lichen stretched across it, and decided to leave it be. There it was, a ball of moss, teaching me to accept things as they are. Notice, and feel, and observe, and accept.

I know Instagram photos are supposed to be picture-perfect, and this one is kinda fuzzy, but so are these cattails! Check this out...the afternoon sun was glowing, and I mean GLOWING through the outer fluff of these cattails, and I was utterly mesmerized by their golden glow. I walked through a marshy bog, balanced on rotten logs across a frozen pond, sunlight blinding me, and wind blowing in every direction. Cattail fluff was flying through the sky, and I imagined being that person who drops their phone into a bog while trying to take the perfect pic.
🤦‍♀️
Spoiler alert: I didn't fall into the bog of eternal stench, but I might have if David Bowie were still the Goblin King.

Clusters of like-minded individuals, coming together in a vast network of connection. I’m reminded of how important community is, always. Life would be bland without the characters that dance across the chapters of our lives.

I noticed the rumbling, long before my eyes caught sight of her. The earth shook subtlety, as innumerable water molecules crashed into each other and down down down upon the rocks below.
